Cypher Yard

Osas Company organizes its first international hip hop dance battle event: Cypher Yard.

The scene is currently missing an event that combines cypher energy with theatre, positive community exchange and social involvement. With Cypher Yard, we want to bring back that exchange: an evening where everyone is welcome to dance, share and learn from each other. Where can I sign up to participate in the battle?

First things first: you purchase a  ticket to get in. Afterwards it’s up to you! Create or participate in a Cypher. Exchange, communicate and feel through others. The preselection has already started! Our judges will be walking around and handing tokens to dancers that stand out.

Can I also just come and watch?

Ofcourse. Everyone is free to come as long as you let us and others protect and cultivate the cyphers in the space. Additionally, if you found yourself dancing in a cypher without wanting to battle, you can politely decline when a token is handed to you by one of the judges.

Waar kan ik me aanmelden om mee te doen aan de battle?

Allereerst: je koopt een ticket om binnen te komen. Daarna is het aan jou! Start een cypher of stap in een bestaande. Wissel uit, communiceer en voel elkaar aan. De voorselectie is dan al begonnen! Onze juryleden lopen rond en delen tokens uit aan dansers die opvallen.

Kan ik ook gewoon komen kijken?

Natuurlijk. Iedereen is welkom, zolang je ons en anderen de ruimte geeft om de cyphers te beschermen en te laten groeien. Sta je in een cypher te dansen maar wil je niet battlen? Dan kun je een token van een van de juryleden gewoon beleefd weigeren.
